3663 is hailed by the Sunday Times as one of the best UK companies to work for

3663 First for Foodservice, the UK's leading foodservice wholesale distributor, has received the accolade of being listed in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For - a notable first for the UK foodservice industry

Supported by the Department of Trade & Industry, companies are listed entirely on the basis of employee feedback on management, working conditions and working culture.  The 2003 list was announced on Sunday 2 March in a special supplement of The Sunday Times.

"The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies award identifies 3663 as a first choice employer and we are absolutely delighted.   It tells us that our training and development policy is right for our work force and popular with them.  This result gives us the best possible encouragement to work together towards another listing next year", said Heather Angus, 3663's Senior Human Resources Manager.

The survey proves that the best companies have stimulating workplaces where their staff feels motivated and valued. The Rt. Hon. Patricia Hewitt MP, Secretary of State for Trade & Industry, commented: "Too often we talk down the strength and success of British business.  We need to celebrate success more, and this list does just that.  It is an illustration of the achievement of our firms and the dedication of the people working in all sectors of the economy."

Also included on the list of best practise employers were Microsoft, Honda, Cisco, Asda and First Direct.  3663 was ranked 97th from a total of 296 entries.

3663's Chief Executive Fred Barnes commented, "A company cannot achieve best practice in any part of its operations without a properly thought-out policy, a collective will to apply it and talented people to make it a reality.  I am delighted so much hard work by so many people has been recognised.  This achievement belongs to everyone at 3663 and I congratulate them all."
